Come join us in Nashville and help celebrate our 11th Annual National Convention!


September 20-22, 2019


This convention is presented by the NBTSG, which is a member owned 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, for the benefit of the Guild Members but it is open for non-members to attend. Join your fellow sharpeners and attend sharpening training from educators from around the world. There will be an extensive vendor room plus a chance to certify. Top scores from certification will see their name on the perpetual Sharpeners Guild trophy. 


SEATING IS LIMITED TO 75 PEOPLE SO REGISTER EARLY.  ONLINE REGISTRATION NOW OPEN.


Guild members receive special membership pricing for workshops, certification and general admission. You do not need to certify to be a member. JOIN NOW 



GENERAL ADMISSION includes Saturday & Sunday vendor room access; Saturday presentations; Saturday & Sunday catered lunches; Saturday Catered reception; Sunday Guild Centers; and Sunday catered awards banquet dinner. 


General admission registration is required to participate in the certification exams on Saturday but is not required to attend the Guild Workshops on Friday.

Special convention rates for standard king and standard double are $145 per night plus local taxes and fees. The hotel offers complimentary 24 hour shuttle service to and from the Nashville International Airport, complementary high speed internet access throughout the hotel, and complimentary guest parking.

11th annual sharpeners guild convention

Overview of the 2019 NBTSG National Convention being held September 20-22 in Nashville, TN.

This will be the largest convention in the history of the Guild with three full days of education, training, networking, learning, sharing, skills development, food, friends, family, and fun.  There are 21 three hour Guild Workshops available to choose from on Friday on a range of topics from business development to technical skills enhancement; 3 guest speaker presentations and 10 vendor presentations on Saturday, as well as shear and clipper blade certification exams; 10 Guild Center topics presented all day Sunday; 17 vendors who will be open all day Saturday and Sunday; a Sharpeners Swap Meet and Silent Auction all day Saturday; catered reception and members meeting Saturday night; and finally our catered Awards Banquet Dinner on Sunday night to bring the event to a close. Catered lunch and refreshments are provided on Saturday and Sunday.


There is something available for all experience levels from beginners who have never touched a pair of shears to 30 year veteran sharpeners.  Come see what all the buzz is about.


Seating is limited to 75 people and the tickets are going fast so register soon!  If you want to take advantage of the special room rate available for the event at the Radisson make your reservations before the room block expires on August 30th.


Prices range from $125 for one workshop (member price) to $999 for the full three day access, do everything, VIP package (non-member price).  The cost of attending this three day event is less than attending a typical two day sharpening training course offered by a reputable trainer.
